Bruno Morchio
Bruno Morchio is an Italian writer and psychologist who lives in Genoa. His style has been classified “Mediterranean noir”.
Morchio wrote his first book Maccaia in 1999, but he was unable to find a publisher. Despite this, he began writing his second novel La creuza degli ulivi.
In 2000, Fratelli Frilli Editori, a small Genovese publishing house interested in publishing detective and noir novels which take place in Liguria, was founded. Morchio presented a draft of the first three chapters of Bacci Pagano: A Tale from the Ghetto, received a positive response and completed the novel. The novel, featuring Detective Bacci Pagano as the main character, turned into a series and became an Italian publishing success.
Fratelli Frilli went on to publish the novels Morchio had written earlier. Two additional novels, Con la morte non si tratta and Le cose che non ti ho detto, were published by Garzanti.
