Interview
Bruno Mari - Vice President, Giunti Group
5/20/2010
Originally from Milan and currently residing in Florence, Bruno Mari has been the Editorial Director of Giunti for the past twenty years. A member of the Board of Directors, he is now the coordinator of all editorial and commercial strategies for the group due to his recent promotion to the position of Vice President of Giunti Publishing Group, one of the largest publishers in Italy.
At the recent Torino Book Fair, Bruno Mari had the honor of announcing Giunti’s latest and most important project to date, the eBook. First among Italian publishers in this field, Giunti has just released its Italian platform for eReaders called “Sbf Stealth” and simultaneously hundreds of eBook titles ready for download.
The very first eBook title was sold via the online bookstore www.ibs.it (Giunti is a partner with Messaggerie in MG Giunti&Messaggerie), and published by Giunti: “The Strange Case of Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson (translated by Luciana Piré).
Traditional books will continue to thrive in Italy as they do now but it will be Bruno Mari who will bring the eBook forward in Giunti and who will manage Giunti’s navigation of the digital world in publishing.
Preparing for a successful holiday season will be the focus for fall as eReaders are released in Italy, and Bruno Mari will continue to make it his priority that Giunti books reach all corners of Italy, as well as Italian readers on every continent, in whichever format they choose.
