Design in Italia
by Aldo Colonetti
Starting from the second half of the twentieth century, Italian design has been at the top of the international rankings, gaining recognition throughout the world. Designers and entrepreneurs, but above all items produced with Italian creativity have become known all over the world. This success is to be credited to three key factors: functionality, good taste, and careful choice of materials. This original approach to design affected not only the production of furniture, but also luxury items, electric appliances, fashion, cars, electronics, boats, and even fabrics, urban furniture, and medical design. The book is divided into three sections: places of daily life; an atlas of objects; creative designers and companies.
