Magari
Magari is a language course of Italian as a foreign language for students of intermediated to advanced level. (from B1 to C1 of the European Common Framework).
It is particularly indicated for those students who know Italian pretty well (B1 level) and wish to brush up and perfect their language c skills in order to get to a higher level (C1).
As a matter of fact, Magari deals with the study of forms, syntax, style that belong to Italian but are hardly ever dealt with in Italian course books. It also offers a new approach to the study of more elementary materials and develops them in a stimulating way.
The course book is characterized by a strong cultural approach. The didactic units are divided into five thematic macro-areas (Society, Arts, Language, History, Geography), through which a rich profile of Italy is outlined in order to illustrate the most significant socio-cultural phenomena, the ideas, the tendencies, and the most recent trends in life style.
The graphic design of the book offers the reader with articles, info boxes, images, charts, which give to Magari a unique outline in the panorama of course books of Italian as a foreign language.
From a methodological point of view Magari is characterized by:
- a strong focus of textuality - attention to conversation analysis and pragmatics analysis (oral language) and to the analysis of text genres and discourse (written language)
- the spiral presentation of grammar through a process by steps of “falsifications” and further redefinitions of the grammar rules
- the particular outline of the lexical analysis based on the Lexical Approach
- the attention to the involvement and the cooperative learning approach
- the use of unconventional motivation strategies - the proposal of original strategies, creative and gay, but at the same time very structured
