Established in 1883, the firm Guerra Edizioni, for approximately thirty years, has been publishing some of the world's most widely distributed books on teaching the Italian language to foreigners, based on various language teaching methods, often combined with magnetic supports and interactive CD-ROMs. The Guerra Edizioni catalogue currently includes over 500 titles, all available on the website (www.guerraedizioni.com), which also offers a wide range of services and educational activities for students and teachers, a discussion mailing-list, a chat line, and on-line sales. The teaching materials produced by Guerra Edizioni are intended for users all over the world: private individuals (students, professionals, teachers), public and private schools in Italy as well as abroad, Italian Cultural Institutes, Societa' Dante Alighieri, university Italian departments and foreign branches of Italian companies. The company also actively participates in major book trade shows worldwide.

L’italiano attraverso i cortometraggi
Livello elementare-intermedio A1-B2
by Letizia Costantini, Annamara Montesi and Patrizia Tomassini

As well known cinema gives great possibilities to teach a foreign language. Short films are even more suited because of their autonomy and completeness. With short sequences it is possible to present elements of Italian culture, language, verbal and non-verbal communication at all levels of proficiency. This project is a useful support for Italian courses: students can focus on language structures and reflect about cultural and social aspects of Italian life.
