Sellerio Editore was founded in 1969 to give a voice to the Sicilian literature as well as the less known european literature. Several collections, dedicated to the revival of the essay, were published in the 70's. The 80's saw a discovery of a new genre: the Italian "giallo" a detective / mystery series by the Sicilian writers Andrea Camilleri and Santo Piazzese.
