Corraini Edizioni is a publishing workshop open to Italian and International artists, illustrators and designers: a sort of space where tailor-made books and projects see the light. Corraini publications are devoted particularly to graphics and design and the collaboration with Bruno Munari brought a special attention to the world of artists’ books for children.
PLUS AND MINUS (PIÙ E MENO)
The visual game “Plus and minus” consists of 72 cards, each having a different image. Many of these images (48) have a transparent background and can thus be superimposed to compose other more complex images and stimulate the child’s creative capacities.
Superimposing some of the tree images creates a wood. Superimposing on the wood the image of rain or that of the sun or moon, or of a flight of birds, or of a passing dog, and so on, the total image can be continuously modified.
DESIGN INTERVIEWS
A series of portraits of some of the most important Italian designers. A collection issued from the wish to get to know them through their own description of their experience and method.
A project realized by Corraini Edizioni in collaboration with Museo Alessi to celebrate the masters of design.
Each 48 pages book is associated with a (about) 30’ dvd: a video interview exclusively realized by the Museo Alessi that represents a unique source of considerations and experiences about making design. Its transcription is curated to preserve the spontaneity and immediacy of the conversation, and appears in the book along with the most significant stills of the video, photographs from the archive of the Museo Alessi and preliminary sketches of several projects. The life and work of the designer according to five protagonists and masters of designing.
