Sistema Italia, Booth # 1200, will provide the opportunity to meet with Italian representatives from AIE - Associazione Italiana Editori and Aboca Museum Edizioni, Bologna Children’s Book Fair, De Agostini Editore, Editrice Kurtis, Editrice La Rocca, Edizioni Corraini, Eli, Gremese, Guida Editori, Leonardo Publishing, Macro Gruppo Editoriale, Nottetempo, Piccin Nuova Libraria and The Plan Editions.

Additional Italian publishers participating at BookExpo America 2008 are Dami International (Children’s Books) at Booth 5036, McRae Books (History, Art, Cooking, Children’s Books) at Booth 4526, RL Gruppo Editoriale (Art, Cooking, Well-being, Children’s Books) at Booth 4531, and White Star Publishers (Art, History, Photography) is also exhibiting at Booth 1332.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce (Bureau of Census), in 2007 Italy was among the major foreign suppliers of books, newspapers and other printed matter, exporting $111 million of products, in particular dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibles, newspapers and journals.

The Italian Trade Commission is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade, business opportunities and industrial cooperation between Italian and foreign companies. Headquartered in Rome, where it is known as Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero (ICE), it operates through 115 branch offices in 86 countries and helps foreign and Italian companies to develop business partnerships.
