PICCIN’s catalogue offers more than 2000 titles in Italian, English, and French. Though most publications are college textbooks and professional titles covering all fields of Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry, a limited yet precious branch of PICCIN’s list deals with Literature and Law. The new edition of the STORIA LETTERARIA D’ITALIA in 11 volumes by Balduino, is part of this branch, as well as the prestigious RIVISTA DEL DIRITTO COMMERCIALE e del diritto generale delle obbligazioni, founded in 1903 under the imprint of Vallardi.

PERRY ROBINS Professor Emeritus of Dermatology, New York University Medical Center, New York, U.S.A.The dynamic nature of the medical sciences presents a constant challenge for the dermatologist, but the past 25 years have necessitated a shift in approach to the profession. With the increasing influx of biological data, and developments in diagnostic and treatment techniques, our armamentarium has expanded to treat an increasing number of pathologies and enabled the vast advancement in corrective procedures. In addition, the recent prevalence of tumor pathologies––in particular, the tumors of the skin - has resulted in a growing number of patients to seek out the dermatologist for treatment. Dermatologists are now required to continually update their knowledge of and techniques in dermatological surgery. As many as 350 pathologies can now be treated by surgery. Also dermatologists are now dealing with an increasing number of cosmetic surgery treatments, which require the use of several devices (eg, lasers, ultrasounds, and radiofrequencies, etc.). Such high-tech devices, and their evident biological action, can only be properly used by dermatologists after having acquired the proper expertise. Many countries all over the world have developed communities: national societies, conferences, and educational outlets, to address these surgical topics. This textbook was written in the spirit of these dermatological communities; as a tool to improve surgical knowledge and technique; and, mostly, to assist the dermatologist in meeting the rising medical needs of today’s patient.

Foreward by John V. Basmajian - Professor Emeritus in Medicine, McMaster University,

The importance of this title on FASCIAL MANIPULATION by Luigi Stecco (winner of the First International Fascia Research Congress, Boston October 2007) is increasing day by day.

You’ll find below some comments on this book that will give you an idea of its quality.

Few books achieve the fond hopes of their authors and their admirers. This is just one that succeeds, making a genuine and profound contribution to the fields of biomechanics, orthopedics and rehabilitation. It moves with easy grace from any topic to its neighbor, shedding warmth and life to them all. As one who has experienced both the high and low points of medical writing and editing over several decades, I see in these pages a true work of genius. It deserves a very wide readership and enthusiastic application of its lessons.

Very impressive, an analytical masterwork, Luigi Stecco’s findings on coordination centres will be of strong interest. This work will be a great stimulus for investigations in all kind of rheumatic diseases.
Prof. Dr. Hartmut Heine
Institutsleiter, Anatomisches und Klinisch-morphologisches Institut, Universität Witten/Herdecke

A new and valid interpretation of the function of the muscular fasciae as a part of locomotor organisation, based on both practical and rational aspects. Clearly written and easily comprehensible. A useful book for all those who are involved in rehabilitation.
Prof. Ivano Colombo, Milano

An admirable book with a different approach.
Prof. K. Lewit, Central Railway Health Institute, Prague
