Since being published in Italy by Orecchio acerbo (www.orecchioacerbo.com) in January, The Last Travel has quickly picked up foreign rights. Rights have been sold to Mamania Relacja in Poland, Annick Press (which acquired world English rights), Les Éditions des Éléphants in France, Chung A Ram in South Korea, and Jacoby & Stuart in Germany. Written by French author Irène Cohen-Janca and illustrated by Italian artist Maurizio Quarello, the book is based on the true story of the celebrated Polish educator, writer, and doctor Janusz Korczak. His works inspired the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the UN in 1959.
