May 2010 – The Italian Trade Commission announces Italy’s official participation at BookExpo America 2010 (May 26-27) with “Sistema Italia”, a showcase of books, catalogues and multimedia products from the following 27 Italian publishers:

Sistema Italia, Booth # 3611, will provide the opportunity to meet with Italian representatives from AIE – Associazione Italiana Editori and Agave Edizioni, Ape Junior, Artelibro, Bologna Children’s Book Fair, La Coccinella, Corraini Edizioni, Dami International, De Agostini Editore, Edizioni Gribaudo, Fanucci Editore, Giunti Group, Gremese, Guerra Edizioni, IBF – International Book Fair / Turin International Book Fair, l’Asino d’oro Edizioni, Paramica, Pearson Paravia Bruno Mondadori, Piccin Nuova Libraria, White Star Edizioni and ZOOlibri.

 

Additional Italian publishers participating at BookExpo America 2010 are Atlantyca (Children’s Books and Comics) at Booth 4046, Europa Editions (Literature and Poetry) at Booth 3633, Macro Gruppo Editoriale (Body Mind Spirit) at Booth 3763, McRae Books (History, Art, Cooking, Children’s Books) at Booth 3530, and Rizzoli International Publications (Art, Architecture, Photography) at Booth 4348, 4349.

 

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce (Bureau of Census), in 2009 Italy was among the major foreign suppliers of books, newspapers and other printed matter, exporting $70 million of products, in particular dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibles, newspapers and journals.

 

The Italian Trade Commission is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade, industrial and technological cooperation, and disseminating economic information regarding Italy abroad. The Chicago Office is responsible, among others, for the publishing sector, as well as maintaining and regularly updating its publishing website.
