Booksellers School at the Mauri Foundation: Advanced seminars returns to Venice for 2024

The Advanced Seminar of the School for Booksellers, organized by the Umberto and Elisabetta Mauri Foundation and now in its 41st edition, returns again this year in the traditional four-day event at the historic Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice. Il Giornale della Libreria, as per tradition, will be a media partner of the event.

The annual seminar involving Italian and international publishers and booksellers, organized by the Umberto and Elisabetta Mauri Foundation with contributions from Messaggerie Libri and Messaggerie Italiane, and in collaboration with the Italian Publishers’ Association, the Italian Booksellers’ Association and the Center for Books and Reading, will take place Jan. 23-26, 2024.

The seminar program will open on Tuesday, January 23 at 3:30 p.m. with welcome addresses by Alberto Ottieri (President of the Umberto and Elisabetta Mauri Foundation; Messaggerie Italiane and Emmelibri), Stefano Mauri (Vice President of the Umberto and Elisabetta Mauri Foundation; Messaggerie Italiane and Mauri Spagnol Publishing Group) and Renata Codello (Secretary General of the Cini Foundation). This will be followed by speeches by Innocenzo Cipolletta (AIE – Italian Publishers Association) and Paolo Ambrosini (Italian Booksellers Association). Immediately following will be the presentation of the two educational days by Alberto Ottieri, the final day by Stefano Mauri, and the student booksellers and booksellers by Romano Montroni (Scuola per Librai Umberto e Elisabetta Mauri). At 4:30 p.m., the talk by Angela Di Biaso (Emmelibri) and Simonetta Pillon (Informazioni Editoriali) Analysis of the book market in the five-year period 2019-2023. The day will conclude at 5 p.m. with Luca Domeniconi (Feltrinelli) and Edoardo Scioscia (Libraccio Group) introducing the educational topics of the Seminar and present the working groups.
