DON G. ALBERIONE EBOOK

by Nicola Mascellaro

With this title Don Rolfo closes his biographical notes on Don Alberione. To close this research in the wake of institutional tradition, we relaunch his title to remember, once again, the master, the father, the friend: he called me "beccafico" and loved me like a friend, out of his goodness. – How to conclude? He, Don Rolfo, concludes with Don Alberino's way of praying: “He loved to pray in church facing the tabernacle...; he loved listening to the Masses that were celebrated…; he especially loved celebrating in silence…; he loved the Divine Master who he often identified with the Eucharist…; he loved devotions...". I accept with recognition and gratitude the example of prayer of the Founding Father. However for me it is different. Also because it is useless to repeat aspects so well illustrated by the one I consider to be a "master". I conclude with the clear awareness that I have not written on new topics, but that I have written on old topics with a new "perspective". Psalm 35 is magnificent: "in You the source of life. In your light we see the light". These words always fascinate me: “In your light we see the light”! How much knowledge (light) do we have that does not enlighten us, does not speak to us. Stupidly, we turned them off. I'm there! But it's as if they weren't there. They do not shed light and wait for light. I tried to illuminate a light that has always been there: Don Alberione and his work! Our time. What a responsibility! This light has its own particular reflection: the Lord theologian. Don Alberione is a theologian. Not just on paper. He is a true theologian. An innovative theologian in some ways.
