La tana is one of the last stories by Franz Kafka, written in the Berlin period and published posthumously by his friend Max Brod. It is among the most complex works of the Bohemian author. Unfinished and narrated in the first person, tells about the protagonist’s obsession to build a perfect refuge in which enjoying absolute security, an impregnable den that protects him from his enemies. Enemies that are nothing but persevering fears of others and of himself, buried by a thousand hypotheses, anguishes and torments without end.
