RU486 Not all the witches were burned

by C. Flamigni C. Melega

This book explains how RU486 works and raises a series of ethical issues in Italy about which there is still much confusion.
The authors have controversially dedicated the book to the Members of the “Istituto Superiore di Sanità” that has recently decided that “the only mode of administering”  RU486 should be “through hospitalization”. This text becomes clear proof that, if in Italy there are institutions that do not aim to defend and  guarantee women’s freedom and health, on the other hand there are many physicians and administrators who are fighting for them.

Carlo Flamigni, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Bologna until 2008, is currently a member of the National Committee for Bioethics and honorary chairman dell’AIED (Italian Association for the Education demographic change). Author of a thousand scientific publications and numerous books of popular type, is also a writer of novels.
Corrado Melega, gynecologist, Director of the EU. O. of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Maternal-Child of the ASL of Bologna until 2009, is currently chairman of the Regional Commission Route Birth of Emilia-Romagna. Author of numerous publications, he has contributed to the realization of the emergency room at the Ospedale Maggiore of Bologna for women who have suffered violence.
