My Brilliant Friend by Italian author, Elena Ferrante jumped to the second spot for “top-selling” fiction titles in Germany. Ferrante was also a favorite in Sweden , taking the first and third spots on the fiction bestseller list with The Story of the Lost Child and Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay.
In Italy, Paolo Cognetti’s Strega Prize winning novel was the country’s bestselling book in July. It will be published in the U.S. in March 2018. Coming in at the #2 and #3 spots are the two mystery books: Swallow Winter by Maurizio De Giovanni and The Safety Net by Andrea Camilleri.
